What is Permanent Retirement Account Number (PRAN)

PRAN stands for Permanent Retirement Account Number. It is a distinct identification number assigned to each NPS (National Pension Scheme) subscriber after successful registration in NPS. After the allocation of PRAN, a physical copy of the PRAN card and other documents is mailed to your address. However, it is always recommended to download a soft copy of the card to avoid any future problems if the physical card gets lost or damaged. 

How to Access ePRAN Through DigiLocker?

The following are the steps on how to access ePRAN through Digilocker:

Step 1: Log in to the Digilocker website using your mobile number and Aadhar card.

Step 2: Enter 6 digit security code.

Step 3: A 6-digit OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number. Fill out the OTP and submit it. 

Step 4: Click the “Search Documents” option on the left menu.

Step 5: Select PFRDA from the central government drop-down menu.

Step 6: The page will redirect to ePRAN.

Step 7: Enter all the asked information and click to get the document.

How to Download an ePRAN card?

Following are the steps to download an ePRAN card:

Step 1: Log in to the NPS account

Step 2: Select the ‘Print e-PRAN’ option or e-PRAN card download.

Step 3: ePRAN will get downloaded on the mobile form and subscribers will keep a soft copy for further future use. 

How To Check National Pension System (NPS) Details On DigiLocker?

The following are the steps to check NPS via Digilocker:

Step 1: Sign up for DigiLocker using your mobile number or Aadhaar Card number.

Step 2: Enter the One-Time Password (OTP) received on your mobile number to validate the login request.

Step 3: Upon successful login, search for ‘PFRDA’ in DigiLocker and choose your CRA (Central Recordkeeping Agency).

Step 4: Select the NPS Account statement from the options provided. This grants you instant access to your NPS Account statement.

Step 5: You can view separate account statements for Tier 1 and Tier 2 or a combined statement.

Step 6: A password usually protects your NPS statement. Enter the provided NPS statement password per the instructions received via email along with the statement.

Step 7: Now, you can access your NPS statements through DigiLocker.
