RBI Bond's Interest & Maturity.
The interest rate of RBI bonds is floating. Currently, it is 8.01% & is paid semi-annually. The maturity period is 7 years.
Eligibility
Resident individuals & HUFs can invest in RBI floating bonds. NRIs are not allowed to invest.
How to Invest Online?
Login to the RBI Retail Direct. Online Portal or the bank’s net banking facilities.Choose “RBI retail direct portal.”Select “transact”.Enter ‘Invest in RBI Bonds’ tab.
Documents Required
Filled up Form.KYC documents, including PAN & Aadhar.Cancelled cheque.
Complete Your Investment
Agree to T&C & enter the OTP.Pay the investment amount via cheque/electronically.Click on Continue & submit the form.
Proof of investment
A physical bond holding certificate, and the bonds held electronically in Bond Ledger Account(BLA) with the RBI or agency bank.
Agency / Designated Banks
Designated banks include SBI, BOB, Canara Bank, HDFC, ICICI, PNB, & many more.
Investment Limit
The minimum investment amount is ₹1,000 or multiples of ₹1,000 with no maximum limit.
Liquidity
RBI Floating bonds don't offer premature redemption & are not traded in the secondary market.
